Q&S Engineering has the experience and capability to carry out each phase of an environmental project. Q&S environmental staff includes hazardous waste specialist, environmental impact specialist, environmental engineer, geologist / hydrogeologist, environmental compliance specialist, marine ecologist / biologist, and ecological and human risk assessor.

Q&S staff has participated in the assessment and remediation of international airports, railroad fueling and repair yards, military facilities, miscellaneous manufacturing facilities, gasoline service stations, and various other industrial and commercial facilities. Environmental compliance projects include work for US Navy installations and Fortune 500 international clients.

Monitoring Well Installation
Development and Sampling, IR Sites 2 and 7, US Naval Station San Diego, CA

Installation, development and sampling of 40 MWs at various RCRA and CERCLA sites within NAVSTAT SD.

Sediment Sampling / Contaminated Sediment
Disposal Feasibility Study; Naval Base Ventura County; Port Hueneme Facility, Ventura, CA

Collection of 45 sediment cores, physical, chemical, and biological assessment, bathymetric survey, preparation of contaminated sediment disposal feasibility report. Disposal options provided by Q&S were significantly lower than those previously assumed by client.

Preparation of Pollution Prevention Plan (P2 Plan) Hazardous Waste Management Plan, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan, and Solid Waste Management Plan, Naval Medical Center San Diego

The plans were updated using regulatory framework for hazardous waste management in California, RCRA and CERCLA. The plans covered 34 facilities within the NMCS

Essential Fish Habitat Assessment
West Coast Navy Tactical Training Theater Assessment and Planning (TAP) Program, SOCAL Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)

Q&S prepared the EFH Assessment in support for the SOCAL range EIS. The TAP West Coast Essential Fish Habitat Assessment was one of the most wide-ranging and complex assessments prepared under the new fish habitat conservation mandates for Federal Agencies. The SOCAL Range Complex is an approximately 120,000 square nautical mile area.
